- Students will discover the world of coding using colours, shapes and patterns! Students will get the chance to dance and help our computer Q code some animals friends!

- How do plants move in the world if they cannot walk? They use different types of seeds to move for them! Students will learn about different types of seeds and how they move in the world. This workshop includes a book, and a movement component as well as a hands-on activity, all related to different seed types.

- Classification is an organizational tool to help better understand the world around us. It this workshop, we will use classification to understand species and their characteristics. - Systems are all around us, whether they be simple like the process of turning off an alarm, or complex like admission system at a hospital. Regardless of their size, all systems can be visualized using a flowchart. Students will explore how defined rules in flowchart design can be used to define the steps and sequence of a system.

They'll go further in detail with coding practices and add more math elements to the game. Then delve in behind the scenes and see how block coding actually works as they explore python.

ASK A SCIENTIST
During this 30-minute synchronous session, students will be able to drive their own experience and learning by asking one of our Bluecoat Scientists anything! This is a great session to increase the literacy component of this package and have your students thinking about open-ended versus close-ended questions, what makes for an engaging and dynamic conversation and so on. Communication in science is key and we are experts at science communication!

Join us for 30–40 minutes of live-streamed science shows every month! We’ll explore one topic each month with fun, exciting demonstrations.
